Arnhem

All student mobilities will be based on the framework outlined in "practical arrangements". This section gives details on the content, methodology and expected results of the mobilities and the specific circumstances related to the theme and host country. The theme for the mobility in The Netherlands, week 4, 2020, is SDG # 11, "Sustainable cities and communities". The City of Arnhem is part of the "Greenfield cities project" where the city uses the knowledge and skills from immigrants in a business campus to support the local education and the development of sustainable and safe cities. Our school will be able to work together with the local government in this initiative and others like "New energy made in Arnhem". We work closely together with two universities in the area: Wageningen University and Radboud University. Both have research projects and Masters aimed at the SDG's and can initiate lectures and workshops for the mobility. Besides, there are several companies and organisations in Arnhem, e.g Burgers' Zoo, Openlucht museum and Dutch Spirit who will be able to contribute to this project. Within this mobility, the objectives linked to teachers are based on testing the assessment tools created at the teachers' meeting to gain experience and reflections with the tools.

This is expected to have an impact on the teachers' didactics since they in the months between this and the next mobility can work innovatively with assessment and motivation of science education in their daily teaching.

For students, the week is divided between sessions with academic group work and sessions with social activities and finally time with the host family. All activities are necessary to enhance their professional and personal competence since collaboration and intercultural competence are key words for the project's objectives. The students will be divided into 8 international groups with 4 students. Here they have to present their research on SDG # 11, and come up with a scientific solution for the SDG. The students will be asked to assess their own contribution to the group work and be assessed by a twin group to enhance their ability to give and receive constructive critique.

Finally they will be assessed by the teachers on their academic performance. At the market place, the groups will present their final product to students, parents, guests etc. This presentation will also be assessed in a number of ways. Subsequently, the process, the collaboration and the product, including language skills, will be assessed within the week. All relevant for general study skills and hence linked to the normal activities of the students. The hosting students that are not directly involved in the group work will solve practical things such as press corps, organizing outings, dinners.
